Clothed: Poem by Nzefili Chukwuemeka

Image result for love

Clothed in the facade of urban charade at dawn,
Reveling in titillation to the tongue, sweet,
Though filling the belly with empty fullness,
Alone, beneath the sunset,
Lost in the deafening sound of silence
Except for some rustling of leaves, dead,
Came a craving deep and intense
For something more satisfying......or someone
With tears unrestrained trickling down,
Washing away the veil of pretenses and things untrue
About to throw in the towel
Thinking the end had begun,
Then came Love...Love like the Camellia
Soft and mellow yet utterly spell-binding

My Lover's love, so deep it made the ocean jealous,
Taking away the drenched fabric of melancholy,
Covering me with the garment of grace, glowing with peace
And lifting me up with living hands, warm and capable

Now with springs in my steps, I walk
Enthralled with anticipation of what is to come,
Enjoying this very moment,
For with this Love is the reality of who I am,
And in this Love just waiting to blossom
Is the wonderful promise of all I can be
